Breathe to My Music
Music is a fundamental part of my Breathe in Paris® Breathwork sessions. I curate each Breathwork music playlist with tender loving care, creating a new compilation for every group class, which I share on spotify@susanoubari.
Each one takes hours of research that I try ahead of time, in my own daily Breathwork and meditation practice, to ensure they pass the test. A great playlist should have an element of surprise, wonder, discovery. It needs to lift you up, move you, and allow you to let go. Each song is placed exactly where it needs to be for a reason.
Don’t press shuffle! As an experienced Spiritual Coach and Reiki Master, I know how important it is to start slowly to put you in a meditative state. So, the first song is calm as I lead a guided meditation. Then the breathing and also the music intensifies, shifting your focus from the outside world into the inner and connecting you to a continual, rhythmic breathing pattern.
As the Breathwork session evolves, the tempo does too. Dramatic music helps you identify your blockages. Soul-stirring music facilitates an intense emotional release. Just like the exchange between every inhale and exhale, the transition between songs flows seamlessly. Fusing a dynamic beat with sounds and silence, you’re taken on a journey, high into the galaxies.
The last song of the active breathing is always the same so you’ll know it’s the end. We anchor the experience with a selection of relaxation music and finish with a fun dance song as I say goodbye!
