BREATHE IN PARIS
with BEAU MAGAZINE & OMVIDA
at La Gaîté Lyrique, Paris
“Hypnotic Breathwork”
In-person - In French - All levels welcome!
I am very happy to bring Breathe in Paris® to La Gaîté Lyrique as part of Rêve Party, a special event created by BEAU Magazine and dedicated to dreams, imagination, and our connection to ourselves and the world around us. For this event, the immersive room at La Gaîté Lyrique becomes a space dedicated to rare experiences inspired by sleep. Curated by Deborah Hess, founder of Omvida Holistic Space in Paris, Rêve Intérieur invites you to slow down, step out of the rhythm of everyday life, and rediscover the power of your body, your breath, and your senses.
THE EXPERIENCE :
During the first part of this one-hour Breathe in Paris® session, I’ll connect you to your breath and explain the Breathwork technique, what you can expect, and why it is so important to breathe correctly. With humor and scientific insight, I will help you understand how your breathing affects your body, your emotions, and your state of mind. You’ll then lie on your back with a mask covering your eyes as I guide you through an immersive Breathwork journey combining conscious breathing, meditation, Reiki, and music. This is when the volume of the music increases, the mind begins to let go, and the energy moves around the room. Through the breath, you can enter a state of deep relaxation similar to the space between being awake and falling asleep. This altered state of consciousness can help you reconnect with yourself, feel more grounded, and become more open to your body and your senses. Breathwork is purely experiential, and no two sessions are alike. You may release tension or emotions, feel physical sensations, experience new insights, or simply feel deeply relaxed. Come with an open mind and be prepared to step out of your comfort zone. You may leave feeling very different from when you arrived. Beginners and experts are equally welcome, but Breathwork is not recommended for certain people; please see the contraindications below.
THE THEME : “HYPNOTIC BREATHWORK”
Most of us spend our days thinking, planning, worrying, and moving from one thing to the next. We forget about the body until it gets our attention through stress, tension, fatigue, or anxiety. The breath is one of the fastest ways to get out of your head and back into your body. In this special Breathe in Paris® experience, I will use meditation, Reiki, music, and Breathwork to guide you into a deep state of relaxation close to dreaming. As your breathing changes, your mind begins to quiet, your body can release what it has been holding, and you become more aware of your sensations. You may feel calmer, lighter, more grounded, or more connected to yourself. Breathwork is different for everyone, but when you give yourself permission to let go and trust your breath, something can shift.

PRECAUTIONS AND CONTREINDICATIONS :
The Breathwork I teach is an abbreviated form of Holotropic® Breathwork called Two-Stage Pranayama. It is a powerful experience combining physical intensity and emotional release. It can be compared to a high-intensity workout and may bring up deep or unexpected sensations.
Breathwork is not recommended for people with :
A cold, sore throat, fever or nausea : your body needs rest and healing, not stimulation. You may also be contagious and unable to fully benefit from the session.
Cardiovascular issues such as hypertension (high blood pressure), angina, or a history of heart attack : Breathwork can raise heart rate and blood pressure, putting strain on the system.
A personal or family history of aneurysms : temporary increases in blood pressure could be risky.
Glaucoma or retinal detachment : changes in breathing and pressure can impact eye health.
Advanced osteoporosis : altered blood chemistry may affect calcium levels and bone strength.
Neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s or multiple sclerosis : muscle cramping and nerve sensitivity (called tetany) may be heightened.
Seizure disorders or severe mental illness : the altered state of consciousness may be destabilizing.
Recent major surgery or significant injuries : Breathwork adds physical stress that may interfere with recovery. Waiting at least two months is advised.
Pregnancy : not recommended at any stage due to intensity and shifts in blood flow.
If you have any doubts, please speak to your doctor or email me directly at susan@susanoubari.com.
You can still attend a Breathwork session with me if :
You have asthma : just bring your inhaler and let me know before class.
You have a history of panic attacks : while some sensations may feel familiar, the environment is safe and guided. Many find it empowering.
You’re menstruating : yes, you can absolutely come.
You’re trying to conceive : Breathwork is safe if you’re trying to get pregnant. However, it is not recommended during pregnancy.
CANCELLATION POLICY :
Tickets for this event are sold and managed directly by La Gaîté Lyrique through its official ticketing platform. Please refer to the terms and conditions provided when booking for information regarding cancellations, exchanges, and refunds.
